1) my first picture taken in Rome, Italy
2) My first picture of Teddy. He actually did this pose ten seconds before I made him repeat it so I could “candidly” photograph him.
3) The first picture of me in Rome from the Colosseum overlooking the Arch of Constantine with Palantine Hill in the immediate distance.
4) This is the Italian flag and it reminds me of how Jessica and Kaitlin figured out what the Hungarian flag looked like. Apparently, while they were taking their walking tour they kept seeing a flag everywhere and they couldn’t figure out why. Then they asked their guide only to find out that it was the national flag of the country.
5) I took a picture of the gardens of the Vestal Virgins home not for the flowers (shocking but true) but for the ridiculousness of their situation. They would be chosen very young and if they were able to keep their virginity until 35 years old then they would be given a huge dowry for marriage. If they didn’t remain chaste until then then they suffered some ridiculous fate which I cannot remember right now.
6) Gotta get some more touristy photos in. I’ve actually gotten better, or perhaps its worse, at not taking a ton of pictures. The reason for photographing buildings is my hope to use the pictures as decorations in my future apt. I have too many though and I can already see myself feeling overwhelmed by the choices so I have been taking a lot less. The touristy pictures of me in them is for my parents b/c whenever I go somewhere they ask why didn’t I wasn’t in the picture. Mom/Dad, I have proof that I was in many places.
7) TEDDY AND I! I asked an older gentlemen with a nice camera to take our photo—remember why?
8) dome of St. Peter’s Basilica. It looks huge from Palantine Hill but once you are inside the building itself it is easy to forget just how big it really is
9) Trajan’s Column with a scene-story winding along the column like a ribbon.
10) The Pantheon was my favorite site from my first day in Rome. I say favorite site of the day because I don’t know if I can choose just one for the whole city because Rome, like Paris, just has so much to offer. This is a sneak peek photo because I really want to share the Pantheon pics since I liked the structure so much.

About:

This tumblr was created as a way for me to share with my family and friends what I'm up to on my travels. I'm also hoping that this will help me relive these experiences in the years to come.

I'm new to this but my posts will probably get better as I figure this thing out. I hope you enjoy it :)
