Last full day in Prague continued

this post is featuring: Petrin Hill and the Astronomical Clock

1) I have been loving all the gardens and parks strewn about everywhere we go. This rose garden greeted us as we exited the funicular station at top of Petrin Hill. sigh, love it

2) ANOTHER GARDEN (!) and Petrin Tower, the mini Eiffel Tower as I dubbed it. We arrived at the perfect time. There was still enough sunlight to appreciate the beautiful colors of the roses and it was perfectly dark once we reached the top of the tower to view the city at night.

3) My favorite basic rose color is yellow (but my favorite favorite are roses of unexpected colors… just fyi). Imagine my delight when I saw a huge plot of land with yellow rose bushes. I have refrained from picking flowers while on my trip because I don’t want to detract from the beauty of the areas.

4) We made it to the top! The climb to the top of the Notre Dame was more steps but dang did I get tired walking up these steps. Thankfully, this staircase was wider and I wasn’t behind anyone so I could sprint up the steps in spurts which for some reason feels easier to me than just walking up normally.

5) I can appreciate natural beauty but cityscapes with all their lights are also very lovely to me. It reminds me of man’s accomplishments and that the future will only bring more.

6) Another sight we needed to see was the Astronomical Clock in Old Town Square which gives a show on the hour featuring: bells, the 12 apostles, and a rooster. The clock tells time in (at least) four different ways: Old Czech Time (“Italian Time”), Roman numbers for Central European time and Arabic numerals show “Babylonian Time,” and also a zodiac ring. (I’ll post video of the clock show very soon)

I'm new to this but my posts will probably get better as I figure this thing out. I hope you enjoy it :)
