Centre Pompidou - 9/16 continued but still not done updating about my birthday

The Centre Pompidou closes after 9pm so I decided to walk from Ile de la Cite to this museum and check it out quickly before heading back to Judith’s house for chabad. This place looks ginormous from the front. The same museum building is shared with a public library also so there were many young people just milling about or sitting on the exterior watching the sunrise.

The main reason I even considered going to this museum was because Judith said it was one of her favorites if not her #1 favorite. I headed to the 4th floor for their general collection to check out what they had to offer. I didn’t reallly like any of the pieces in the first couple of rooms but I definitely found some really neat pieces as I approached the rear of the exhibit.

I saw a piece that said, “INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH SLEEP,” and I laughed (quietly of course) because I felt like I could use a pill form of sleep. I don’t sleep very much because I usually have a hard time just calming my mind down enough to fall asleep. Combine this sleep difficulty with my preference to stay up at night and to wake up decently early and you get me running on few hours every day. It isn’t healthy so when I have absolutely nothing do, like when I’m in San Antonio, I feel like I’m sleeping all the time.

My abuela (grandma) shared her concern that I was sleeping too much. She was worried that something was wrong or I was sick. I completely understand why she’d be so surprised by my ability to take a nap almost instantaneously because I do that almost every time I go to visit her. I sit on her sofa and then I move my head to the arm rest, then my eyes start closing, then I just give in and fall asleep there or move to a bedroom to take a nap with an undefined wake-up time.

I’m moving in with my grandma for a few weeks once I get back to the states so maybe I’ll sleep more since I can’t seem to stay awake when I’m at her house.

None the less, I would still prefer a pill that would help me avoid the negative health consequences of minimal sleep.

This tumblr was created as a way for me to share with my family and friends what I'm up to on my travels. I'm also hoping that this will help me relive these experiences in the years to come.

I'm new to this but my posts will probably get better as I figure this thing out. I hope you enjoy it :)
