I feel the need to explain my “tumblr name.”

Zandrox used to be my nickname in high school created by my absolutely wonderful friend, Charlie.

I was lucky enough to be in the same chemistry AP class with  most of my good high school friends, which meant that we were always having a great time (and learning of course). After the pre-lab, we usually had the room to ourselves while Mrs. Brown moved between the lab and her glass walled office. Labs were also always a blast because of this freedom and one day while working on a lab over redox reactions, Charlie starts to make a song about redox reactions and somehow my name entered it too.

A nickname was born.

Alexandra —> Alexandrox —> zandrox

I think it is cute that my nickname has a pretty nerdy explanation. Being able to joke about science with my friends is one of my fondest associations I have of my high school. Luckily, I was able to find a college that let me meet more people who would also appreciate that type of humor. For example, we wrote a Baby got back song about organic chemistry—back side attack is the key.
